The Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. Foundation was established in 2014 with the mission to assist high school students, both locally and internationally access resources for a higher education. The foundation was named after the late Dr. Fidel Goldson Sr., a highly admired South Florida chiropractor and beloved family man. He was a proud student of Kingston College in Kingston, Jamaica, and later Boyd Anderson in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Fidel Goldson, Sr., was a huge advocate of higher education. He firmly believed that an investment in one’s education was money well spent. He promoted education as the vehicle to build stronger communities and often relied on it as a tool to improve the quality of life for those around him. Dr. Goldson, Sr. set an indelible standard and left behind a legacy that the Goldson family was committed to making sure would live on with his son Dr. Goldson Jr. at the helm. The foundation remains dedicated to helping individuals matriculate to college and continue the legacy started by a beloved chiropractor who made a difference in so many lives. Over the years, the foundation has successfully partnered with prominent city officials in South Florida, organizing 5K Run/Walks to raise scholarship money and assist young adults with their college endeavors. More recently, the foundation has partnered with local high school program coordinators to help facilitate scholarship awards through essay contests, community service, and examining resiliency. To date, the foundation has been instrumental in helping dozens of students and their families ease the financial burden of college.
